student

Aberdeen
University
at
the
time
the
artist's
daughter
studied
there.
He
visited
the
artists'
home
in
Kirkcudbright
as
her
guest,
where
he
sat
for
two
portraits.
This
painting
was
sold
at
auction
in
2016
by
Lyon
&
Turnbull.
A
less
formal
oil
portrait
of
Kenneth
Dike
is
held
by
the
family.
Dike
returned
to
his
native
Nigeria
after
graduation,
and
became
Vice
Chancellor
of
the
University
of
Ibadan
there.
He
moved
to
Harvard
University
in
the
United
States
during
the
Nigerian
civil
war.
